Project Goals

Our goal was to build a visually appealing, user-friendly, and rewarding puzzle experience while maintaining the intellectual challenge of cryptograms.

My Responsibilities

For this project, I handled the visual design based on the marketing team’s brief and research insights. I also worked on balancing game difficulty, managing the game content database, and designing the achievement system to improve user engagement.

Quote theme content generate

To make the game stand out, I developed an algorithm that takes famous quotes and lyrics as input and converts them into cryptograms. By adjusting the percentage of hidden letters, the system automatically generates puzzles with varied difficulty, categorized by topic and theme.

Streak & Achievement System

The Streak and Achievement System boosts motivation and engagement by rewarding daily play with a growing plant visual and resetting progress if missed. Achievements celebrate various playstyles with multi-level badges, encouraging consistency and mastery for a more rewarding experience.

Redefine the design system

After the first version, the visual style was completely redesigned to resolve mismatches between the design team’s concepts and the research team’s findings. This overhaul ensured the final visuals better reflected user needs and research insights, improving overall user experience and coherence.

Streak day

The Streak system motivates daily engagement by rewarding players with visual progress through a growing plant metaphor, using 5 phases with 3 states each. Completing at least one level per day advances the streak with animations, while missing a day resets progress. Designed to build habit and increase retention, the system gives players a clear, satisfying sense of accomplishment and continuity.

Achievement

The achievement system is a gamified experiment inspired by apps like Duolingo, designed to boost motivation through progressive goals. Players unlock colorful badges across categories like accuracy, persistence, and strategy, with eight levels each. This encourages diverse playstyles, rewards effort, and reinforces a sense of accomplishment to support long-term engagement.
